A terrific night at the Brantford Folk Club's 20th anniversary celebration in southern Ontario. We were graced by a visit from a Queen Elizabeth stand-in who made the most unforgettable speech I have ever heard!
Many great performers and a really enjoyable evening at the end of a fairly tiring trip around southern Ontario in 2002.
I had the pleasure of playing at the Angel Cave coffee house in Hamilton Ontario during my visit in autumn 2002 (that's autumn in Canada).
Very hospitable people who made me extremely welcome, and what's more seemed to like my songs!
This was one of a couple of nights I spent at a pub in Fergus Ontario called the Copper Kettle. I made a lot of friends in places like this during the last trip and I'm looking forward to seeing them all again soon.
The standard of musicianship in some of these sessions was truly breathtaking.
One incredibly hot summer's day at a function at the Gawler Folk Club, Gawler South Australia. The temperature was in the forties and the 12 string had to be re-tuned after each song. A new set of strings was needed after this memorable afternoon.
Concert appearance at the Library, Port Lincoln, South Australia during a visit to Port Lincoln to play at The Cellar Folk Club. One of the wettest weekends ever in Port Lincoln, also cold and windy. But folkies rise above that sort of minor irritation and enjoy themselves anywhere!
At South Australia's premier folk music event, the annual Victor Harbor Folk Festival.
Street concert at the second Yackandandah Folk Festival in Yackandandah (of course) in Victoria. A beautiful area of north eastern Victoria, former gold mining town and location of a little place that sells the absolute best black forest cake I have ever tasted! Note the wonders of laser eye surgery, no more glasses (except for reading and changing broken guitar strings!).
With Cate and Chris of Lyrical Folkus at the Maldon Folk Festival, Maldon Victoria. An impromptu street performance on Sunday morning, helping to blow away the cobwebs from a late Saturday night and get the "rust" out of the voice and the fingers.
